STUDIA

About STUDIA

STUDIA is a social science research organization based in Schlierbach, Upper Austria, specializing in socio-economic and socio-ecological challenges in rural areas. Using a transdisciplinary and holistic approach, they combine regional economic assessments, value-added analyses, and participatory methods to support sustainable land use, food and energy supply, and rural living. Their work provides a strong scientific foundation to inform decisions and drive meaningful change.

Role in the project

STUDIA Schlierbach leads the cost-benefit analysis of biodiversity measures. This is intended to show which simple, cost-effective measures can be taken to improve biodiversity on farms without negatively affecting the profitability of the farms. STUDIA develops an online tool providing an overview of the available biodiversity friendly farming incentives and create a cost benefit analysis of biodiversity friendly farming practices, resulting in an online toolbox. This online toolbox stimulates farmers and foresters to adopt or expand biodiversity friendly farming.
