About University of Forestry

Established in 1953, the University of Forestry focuses on implementing state policy for advancing higher education and science in Bulgaria. Its Faculty of Ecology and Landscape Architecture trains specialists in Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Landscape Architecture, blending international practices with national traditions. The faculty combines education and research to address sustainable natural resource management and promote a healthy, aesthetically pleasing environment.

Role in the project

The University of Forestry is a key partner in FarmBioNet, establishing Bulgaria’s national network for biodiversity-friendly farming. As a leader in forestry and environmental sciences, it promotes knowledge exchange, sustainable land management, and supports project implementation nationwide. Through research, education, and stakeholder collaboration, it advances innovative, eco-friendly agricultural and forestry practices.
